Ms. Zeona Jacobs
Johannesburg Stock Exchange

Zeona Jacobs is the director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the JSE. She joined the JSE in September 2012.

Zeona heads up group marketing and branding transformation, public policy, regulation and government relations group communications, including media relations and internal communications events retail strategy and corporate social responsibility.

Zeona currently chairs the Committee of SADC Stock Exchanges (CoSSE) and an executive member of the African Securities Exchange Association (ASEA). She is also Chairperson of the Johannesburg Social Housing Company as well as an Advisory Board Member of the Wits Business School.

Previous positions Zeona has held includes director of Corporate Communications for Cell C at the time of its launch, Executive Head of Corporate Communications at Telkom, and director for Communications at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. She also owned and managed Lobedu Leo Burnett, an advertising agency. Together with her team at Cell C they launched extremely successful “Take a Girl Child to Work” campaign.

Zeona graduated from Damelin College Johannesburg’s Business Management Program and the University of the Witwatersrand Business School’s Management Advancement Program. She also completed her Associate Coaching Certification with the University of Cape Town.  She is a fellow of the Aspen Institute of Leadership and was awarded the Distinguished Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in 2016 where she attended a leadership program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
